Israa Adel, 29 years old, did not settle for her love of training in fashion design and pattern-making, and achieving many successes in the field she specialized in studying, but wanted to expand the circle of learners to include the deaf and hard of hearing. She launched a special application to teach them fashion design and pattern-making on Google Play, in collaboration with a computer company.
The idea of the “Professional Tailoring Course with Pattern-Making for the Deaf” application took a long time for Israa and the computer company to execute. They started working on it in 2019, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The application contains 32 topics that help trainees in learning, as well as a glossary of terms in the field of tailoring and a reference guide for all types of fabrics, their selection methods, and how to identify them by texture and their uses. She noted that her initiatives will enter the Thomson competition in the European Union for initiatives interested in people with disabilities.
